Freshers Health and First Aid 


Freshers Health and First Aid is a recent addition to our portfolio of courses. This new and exciting course was designed by Julie and Theresa who have both worked for many years at a University Medical Centre and have teenagers at University. The course seeks to equip young people with the skills and confidence to face the challenge of moving away from home. The course draws upon Julie and Theresa's extensive experience in student health.  

 

This Unique Course is both interactive and  practical and is aimed at those students who are leaving home for the first time.

 

We know that leaving home / moving away to University for the first time can be challenging, but healthy learners can increase levels of achievement, performance and mental wellbeing. 

 

This course will equip students with vital skills to keep them healthy, safe, and be able to deal with an emergency situation/ help a friend in need.

Subjects include practical interactive sessions on

  • Keeping safe and well at Uni;

  • Contraception and Sexual Health;

  • Minor illnesses;

  • Minor Injuries;

  • Alcohol Awareness;

  • Drug Awareness;

We can also include training in CPR and Safe use of an AED.
